1. Filtration
Before the water is heated or cooled, it passes through our expert filtration process, which includes a pre-filter, activated-carbon block, hollow-fibre membrane, and more. This removes 99.99% of bacteria, chlorine, odours, fine particles, and heavy metals like lead and copper. Our activated carbon and ion-exchange resin filters ensure that each drop tastes fresh and clean while protecting components from limescale.
When dispensing cold water you’ll benefit from:
- Reliably refreshing water with improved taste and aroma
- Reduced turbidity for crystal-clear results
- A dependable dispenser with outstanding safety features
When dispensing hot water you’ll benefit from:
- Development of full, rich aroma and flavour for hot drinks
- Protection against limescale build-up that could lead to downtime
2. Heating Mechanism
A hot water dispenser provides hot water within seconds and uses less energy than a kettle. The dispenser uses an internal heating element to provide this water, bringing filtered water to around 90–95 °C, perfect for teas and coffees. Our hot water dispensers use boiler-based heating, which heats and stores the water for instant dispensing. With added safety features, including sensors to detect leakage, emergency shut-off, anti-scalding mechanisms, and overheating sensors, it will prevent any accidents.
Furthermore, our powerful BRITA ThermalGate™ and HygienePlus features regularly heat the tap to defend against germs and provide clean filtered hot water. The tap is continuously active and automatically heated to over 125°C at regular intervals for thermal disinfection.
Our hot water dispensers can be chosen in different models and between two boiler sizes to fit your business needs.

3. Cooling Mechanism
Our cold water dispensers use a refrigeration unit for chilled water to maintain a consistent temperature, usually around 4-10°C. Once filtered, the water is cooled until you dispense some, meaning you’ll have access to fresh, cold water on demand. You can also dispense unchilled still water if cold water isn’t needed. Again, you can choose different cooling capacities to fit your business needs, which all have different energy consumptions.

How Do Hot And Cold Dispensers Work Together?
While you can find a cold water cooler and a hot water dispenser, you can find combined systems that dispense both. These water dispensers are designed for convenience and control, working together to distribute the water you want.
Hot and cold water dispensers have two different sections internally, one for hot water and one for cold. These machines have a heating element that warms the water to the desired temperature and a refrigeration system that cools it as needed. Working together but separately to provide you with the water of your choice.
